Fundraising Tips
Challenge others to "Take the Plunge"
Plunging as a group is fun. Challenge your friends, family and co-workers to join your team and compete to win the Emperor Club Award. Schools and sports teams can challenge other schools and teams to compete to win the Rockin' Schoolhouse Award. Are you a part of a Law Enforcement Torch Run or a public safety department or facility wanting to get involved? Then compete for the Arctic Hero Award for the largest amount of money raised by a Public Safety Department. (all money raised from Law Enforcement will get credited to your LETR totals). Fire Departments are also welcome to take part in the festivities.
Hold events at School or Work
Organize a dress down day at work or get together at school. Fellow employees can "dress down" for a $5 fee. See if your company provides matching funds. Many do and this is a great way to increase your fundraising. Bring the matching gift form with you to the registration at the plunge. Sell Paper Penguins for $1, $2 or $5 at work.
You don't want to take the Plunge?!
Do an "Un-Plunge". Set a monetary goal you'd like to raise, and have people pledge you not to go in. If you reach your goal, you don't have to go in! If you don't reach your goal, then you go in! Or challenge others not to go in. Set up donation buckets under a picture of 2 or 3 of your co-workers. Whoever has the least amount of money in their bucket has to Plunge!
